Over the years I have worked with many different people and many different home builders while do the plumbing in these houses. I have been a plumbing contractor for over 20 years and have been part of the home building process 100′s of times, and have taken part in building a house as a home builder.
This was a project I took on years ago when the economy was slow and a friend wanted to build his own house. As he had no knowledge I stepped in and helped out. Believe it or not your plumber gets to the site just after the very first stage of building has started, the excavation. The your plumber is in your house working in his or her socks installing toilets, sinks and taps during the very final stage of building.
I decided to put together this site first because this is a topic I like to write about, and second because of all the houses I did plumbing in there was no home owner that had a clue of this process. And some of those that seemed to know the least amount were acting as their own general contractor. No wonder most of these people were so stressed out.
And even that guy actually did okay. By the time the house was done he had sweat equity of over $100,000 in his $700,000 home.
I hope that you go beyond this free report I put together if you decide to build your own house. Just think, you plan on spending $250,000 and up to build the house of your dreams what is the cost of four or five books to educate you on this process? I am looking at a couple of books right now that might be worthwhile reading, but before I can feel good about recommending these books I need to go through them one more time. I am also going to recommend other books or ebooks on DIY (do it yourself) projects that you might be able to do yourself to build up some sweat equity and help pay off your home many many years sooner.
